Privacy Policy for SnapLog AI

Introduction

SnapLog AI is operated by Computer Force SRL, Timișoara, Romania.

SnapLog AI helps users capture health device readings from photos and organize them in a personal logbook.

Key points

  • Photos and images are used only to extract readings.
  • Images themselves are not stored. We keep only a short cryptographic hash (a fingerprint) of each submitted image so we can detect duplicate submissions and prevent abuse of AI features.
  • Extracted data (readings and related log entries) is saved in your user account.
  • Personal data is not sold.

1) Scope

This Privacy Policy explains what information SnapLog AI processes, why it is processed, and the choices available to users.

2) Information We Process

Depending on how you use the app, SnapLog AI may process:

  • Photos/images provided by the user (camera or gallery) to read device values (processed in transit only — see §7; the image itself is not kept)
  • A short cryptographic hash (fingerprint) of each submitted image, retained to detect duplicate submissions and prevent abuse of AI features
  • Extracted health readings (for example, blood pressure and weight values)
  • User account data needed for sign-in (for example, account identifier and email address)
  • User-entered log information (notes, timestamps, tags, if applicable)
  • Subscription and entitlement status (such as product identifier, transaction identifier, purchase and expiry dates) received from the Apple App Store or Google Play when you start, renew, or cancel an in-app purchase
  • Support communications (if you contact us)

We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies.

3) How We Use Information

We process information to:

  • detect values from user-provided images
  • save and display readings in your personal logbook
  • provide sign-in and account-linked data access
  • maintain app reliability and security
  • respond to support requests and legal obligations

4) Health-Related Information

SnapLog AI is intended for personal logging and organization only.

SnapLog AI does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and is not a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

5) Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal data. Your data is not sold to third parties.

We use service providers only as needed to operate app functionality. For SnapLog AI these are:

  • Google (Firebase) — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check, and related Firebase services used to run the account, sync, and abuse-prevention layer of the app.
  • Google (Gemini) — the AI service that reads values from photos you submit and generates optional motivational messages. Images are transmitted to Gemini only for the duration of a single request and are not retained by SnapLog AI (see §7).

These providers act as data processors on our behalf under appropriate contractual and technical safeguards.

Data is not sold and is not shared for advertising purposes.

6) Subscriptions and Payments

SnapLog AI may offer an optional auto-renewable subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payments are handled exclusively by Apple or Google; we do not receive or store your credit or debit card information.

When you make or renew a purchase, we receive and store a limited set of subscription-related information from the store, such as a product identifier, a transaction or receipt identifier, the purchase date, and the subscription expiry or renewal date. We use this information to:

  • unlock and maintain access to paid features on your account;
  • validate receipts and prevent abuse;
  • provide customer support for billing issues together with the relevant app store.

Subscription data is not used for advertising and is not sold. Apple's and Google's own handling of your payment data is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

7) Data Storage and Processing Location

Photo and image handling: Photos and images you provide are used only to extract readings. Each image is transmitted to Google Gemini for the duration of a single AI request and is not stored by SnapLog AI. After the reading has been extracted, we retain only a short cryptographic hash (a fingerprint) of the image; this hash cannot be used to reconstruct the original picture and is kept solely to detect duplicate submissions and prevent abuse of the AI features described in our Terms of Use.

Readings storage: Extracted data—readings and related log entries—is stored in Cloud Firestore and saved in your user account so you can access your log across devices.

Transmission security: Data is transmitted using secure encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

If data is transferred internationally, we apply reasonable safeguards required by applicable law.

8) Retention

Health readings and log entries are retained until the user deletes them or the account/data is removed.

Image hashes (the short fingerprints described in §6) are retained only for a short rolling abuse-prevention window and are deleted when the corresponding account is deleted, whichever comes first. The underlying images themselves are never stored.

Support-related information is retained only as long as necessary to resolve the request and meet legal obligations.

9) User Controls and Deletion

Users can:

  • choose what photos/readings to submit
  • delete entries in the app (where available)
  • request deletion of account-related personal data via our support page

10) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

11) Children’s Privacy

SnapLog AI is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children in that age group.

12) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date and, where required, provide additional notice.
